From One School to the Next

Priya Anand received her Master of Science in Public Health from the University of Michigan on May 3, a milestone she has been working toward through five years of research deadlines, long nights, and a deep conviction that preventive care can change lives. Her family traveled from Charlotte to watch her walk across the stage, and her mother admitted later that she cried from the moment the processional began. Priya's focus during her graduate studies was on maternal and infant health disparities in rural communities, a subject she chose after a summer internship opened her eyes to how much geography shapes outcomes. She has already accepted a position with a state health department and is eager to put what she learned to work. Her family is proud, and she is ready.
